More and more neighborhoods are generating large amounts of solar power. At sunny moments, this can temporarily overload the electricity grid.
If too many households feed electricity back into the grid at the same time, this can lead to overloaded cables or even power outages.
That is why Enexis works together with Zonnedimmer. When the grid becomes too full, we can temporarily curtail solar panels through the inverter.
As soon as there is sufficient capacity on the grid again, your solar panels automatically return to full output.
Zonnedimmer works via the official online (cloud) connections of inverter manufacturers. This means we can curtail safely and reliably without requiring any modifications in your home.
Only homes in selected grid areas are eligible for curtailment by Enexis.

Zonnedimmer works with inverters from SolarEdge, Enphase, Growatt, GoodWe, SMA, Solis, Solax, SAJ, Huawei, and Sungrow. Your inverter must also be connected to the internet and you must have access to the manufacturer's app.
We estimate curtailed generation based on measured solar irradiance (KNMI) at your location and the historical output profile of your inverter during the day.
This depends on how congested the electricity grid is in your neighborhood. On sunny days, curtailment may happen more often, especially in areas with many solar panels.
