Our mission

Zonnedimmer makes solar energy smarter and more accessible. The Netherlands is the world champion in solar power, but this often causes peaks on the electricity grid. Our goal is to maximize the use of solar energy without overloading the grid or increasing costs for PV owners.

What we do

With our Cloud Curtailment platform, Zonnedimmer offers an innovative solution to control solar panels in real time and at scale. Through officially contracted connections with inverter manufacturers, generation can be temporarily reduced or switched off—entirely online and without physical modifications to installations. This keeps the electricity grid stable and affordable.

In addition, we offer solar panel owners the Zonnedimmer app. With it, they always have live insight into their generation and can automatically switch off their panels based on preferences (initially dynamic pricing), ensuring they don't pay for generated electricity during periods when feed-in tariffs are negative for them.
